Taiwan-Japan Industrial Partnership Advances: Kyushu Economic Federation’s Networking Event Concludes Successfully

To strengthen collaboration between Taiwan and Japan in semiconductors, manufacturing, and ICT sectors, the Kyushu Economic Federation hosted an industrial networking event in Fukuoka. The event brought together several prominent Japanese companies and Taiwanese startup teams to explore future cooperation opportunities.

Founded in 1961, the Kyushu Economic Federation is the most influential multi-industry business organization in the Kyushu region, with over a thousand member companies from diverse industries. Since signing an MOU with the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce in 2012, the Federation has been a key partner for Taiwanese companies entering the Japanese market and a vital bridge for Taiwan-Japan economic cooperation.

The event began with Fukuoka City officials introducing the local startup ecosystem and the advantages for foreign companies entering the market. This was followed by presentations from Huang Jingyao, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Accelerator Network, and Lin Bo-heng, Secretary-General, who shared Taiwan’s startup resources and collaboration potential with Kyushu Economic Federation members. Representatives from renowned Japanese companies, including Sumitomo Corporation, Nishi-Nippon Railroad, and SG Incubate, also shared their successful cooperation cases, offering valuable insights.

A highlight of the event was the dialogue session between Kyushu Economic Federation Chairman Susumu Kuratomi, who is also Chairman of Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd., and the Taiwanese delegation. Chairman Kuratomi expressed high expectations for Taiwan-Japan collaboration in semiconductor technology, innovative industries, and market expansion, sharing his extensive experience in promoting international partnerships. During the session, representatives from both sides discussed industry needs and technical resources, further exploring opportunities for deeper cooperation.

At the conclusion of the event, Taiwanese startup teams remarked that the Kyushu Economic Federation’s resources and networks provided them with a deeper understanding of Japanese business models and collaboration mechanisms. They also expressed eagerness to build closer partnerships with Japanese companies in the future. The Kyushu Economic Federation emphasized its commitment to deepening Taiwan-Japan economic cooperation and expanding their presence in the global market.
