Taiwan-Japan Entrepreneurship Flourishes: Plug & Play Japan Summit Promotes Cross-Border Innovation Collaboration

The Plug & Play Japan Summit, one of Japan’s largest startup events of the year, was held today in Tokyo. Over 200 startups and 45 major corporations from around the world gathered to showcase their technologies and engage in networking. Ten Taiwanese startup teams were invited to participate, actively exploring opportunities for collaboration and enhancing their international visibility.

Plug & Play, a global leader in startup acceleration, was founded in Silicon Valley in 2006 and established its presence in Japan in 2007. With branches in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, the platform focuses on accelerator programs, corporate innovation, ecosystem building, and investments, aiming to connect global innovation resources and promote cross-border collaboration.

The event featured a variety of activities, including startup pitches, keynote speeches, and panel discussions, fostering interactions between startups, major corporations, and investors. Taiwanese startup teams took advantage of the event’s open format to explore the exhibition and network with innovative teams and corporate representatives from Japan and around the globe. They gained valuable insights into innovation trends and market demands in the Japanese ecosystem.

During the event, Taiwanese startup teams actively participated and shared their technologies and solutions in semiconductors, AI, and IoT with attendees, attracting the attention of several large Japanese companies and investors. Both Taiwan and Japan sides held preliminary discussions on the possibility of technical cooperation and market development, laying the foundation for subsequent collaboration.
